SandRoss is situated within the scattered crofting community of Opinan, a small settlement south of Gairloch in Wester Ross. The spacious detached house lies off the single track road along the Wester Ross peninsula, which follows the stunning coastline of rocky outcrops and large sandy beaches, just a short walk from Opinan beach and only a short drive to the beautiful beaches at Red Point. Ideally located to enjoy the best that this beautiful area offers, and on a popular route recommended by the NC500.  SandRoss is set in an area of natural outstanding landscape, from rugged mountains that form a backdrop to the coastal villages, lochs and pretty countryside and gardens fed by the Gulf Stream.

Red Point Beach is just a short drive away from SandRoss.

The grazing land around the house gives far reaching views across the peninsula, while dramatic mountains are seen in the distance and from the first floor there are views to The Minch and the islands of the Inner Hebrides.

The west coast of Scotland is known for its mild climate and beautiful coastline with sheltered sandy beaches and island views. The natural landscape and traditional communities make this area popular with those seeking a change of lifestyle or a second home and 7 Opinan is an excellent base from which to enjoy this region. The west coast is famous for its sailing while inland, mountains and moorlands offer spectacular scenery, hill walking, climbing and trout fishing on the hill lochs. Nearby are the National Trust for Scotland Inverewe Gardens, a 50 acre garden of exotic plants established in the 1800s.

Gairloch is made up of all the settlements around Loch Gairloch from Red Point in the south west, with its beautiful sandy beach, to Rua Reidh Lighthouse in the north. The village itself has a good range of amenities including three small supermarkets, a bank, two post offices, pharmacy, health centre, eateries, gift shops, petrol station, harbour, golf course and primary and secondary schooling. Inverness is approximately 75 miles of stunning scenery away, and has all the facilities of a modern city including its main line railway station and airport with regular flights to the south.
